11th Hour

Global Warming, or more accurately Climate Disruption, is clearly well under way. If we don’t tackle this problem soon, Mother Earth may go on without the human species. In 2007 Leonardo DiCaprio produced one of the best films on this topic, “11th Hour”. How much progress have we made to avert this problem in the seven years that have passed since he made the film? What is slowing us down? What do the upcoming elections have to do with solving this problem? What do we need to learn? Where can we find the keys to solve this challenge?

Announcing the February 2014 meeting of Reclaim Democracy. We will meet this coming Saturday, February 8, 2014, at The New Irvine Ranch Water District Community Meeting Room at 15500 Sand Canyon Ave., Irvine, CA (Note the different address, this building is just north-east of the building we used to meet in.)

Bring a healthy snack to share, we will provide hot and cold drinks. Join us for an astonishing film. Sure, you could watch it at home on Netflix, but you would miss the insightful and stimulating conversation that follows the film at our meeting, not to mention the great munchies and camaraderie.

6:00 PM: Gathering, chatting and munching.
6:30 PM: Welcome and Introduction to Reclaim Democracy
7:00 PM: The 11th Hour (92 min)
8:35 PM: Discussion: How can we speed up the march toward sustainability?
