Interfaith Environmental Group to Host
“Energy & Our Future: A Symposium”
Sponsored by the Orange County Interfaith Coalition for the Environment and St. Jude Medical Center’s Healthy Communities Program, “Energy & Our Future: A Symposium,” will feature guest speakers:
Rev. Dr. Jeanyne Slettom, Chris Roth, and Alexandra Nagy
FULLERTON, Calif. — The Orange County Interfaith Coalition for the Environment (OCICE) and St. Jude Medical Center’s Healthy Communities Program will host its “Energy & Our Future: A Symposium,” on Saturday, November 2, 2013 at the St. Jude Medical Center, located in Fullerton, CA. This event is open to the public.
The symposium will feature two leaders of the environmental movement based in Southern California – Chris Roth and Alexandra Nagy, along with Rev. Dr. Jeanyne Slettom.
Mr. Roth’s presentation, entitled, “Climate Crisis – An Opportunity for Change, will cover the important aspects of awareness and action. Awareness of the impacts that climate change is having on the environment and the effects it’s having on our lives. And, the action you can take now that will have a positive impact on the generations to follow.
Ms. Nagy’s presentation, entitled “The State of Fracking in California,” will cover where California is on legislation regarding “fracking” or Hydraulic Fracturing and will discuss what you can do to influence your state legislator.
Rev. Dr. Slettom’s presentation, entitled “Our Spiritual Responsibility to Care for Creation,” will cover the moral aspects of caring for the earth and how we, as the Caretakers, can make a difference.
