Howard Vlieger Talks About GMO's

vlieger.jpgNOTE:  Howard will be speaking at different venues throughout Orange County February 5-11.  More locations will be posted soon.

Howard Vlieger is a third generation Iowa farmer who, along with his son, still works the farm on which he was born. He serves on the board of directors for the Farm and Ranch Freedom Alliance (FARFA) and the Food Freedom Foundation, and is the President and Co-Founder of Verity Farms which has a successful biological crop production program, working with biological, organic & conventional farmers who are all looking for answers to problems they are experiencing. Vlieger began studying GMO crops in 1994 and is fortunate to have ongoing involvement with some of the lead scientists in the world on research projects involving GMO crops. This, combined with real life experience, gives him a unique perspective on GMOs.

“In 1994 I became a student of GMO crops. I studied the manner in which they were made and no_gmos.jpgthen when they were introduced in the US, I began to observe both first hand and through the experiences of farming customers from across the Midwest the adverse effects of the GMO crops to both the environment and livestock. I have been able to work with nutritionists to help mitigate problems caused by the GMO while farmers replace the GMO grains with non-GMO grain and eliminate the previous problems. The negative effects of GMOs and the negative effects of glyphosate (the active chemical ingredient in the world's most widely used herbicide Roundup) are becoming more intense and more obvious every day.”

In addition to working with farmers in crop and livestock production in more than 10 states across the US, healso works with researchers, scientists, veterinarians and agronomists from around the world. He has been giving presentations to educate people about GMOs for more than 8 years in 15 states and Canada.

“It is a true joy to continue the never ending learning experience of working with all of the biological and elemental components of the soil to produce clean, high quality, nutritious food. It is an even greater pleasure to share with others what we have learned.”
