Naturita, Colorado is an economically devastated rural mining community. When an energy conglomerate enters with a proposal to build a uranium mill, many townsfolk couldn't be happier about what would be the first mill of its kind built in the U.S. in 30 years. However, a regional environmental group is determined to bring the project to a standstill due to the town struggles with health problems and environmental consequences of the last uranium boom and the superfund cleanups it necessitated, weighing issues of health, family, livelihood and the pressing global need for sustainability and preserving community.
