Interfaith Luncheon in Orange County

Celebrates Four Years of Faith & Ecology

with Rev. Canon Peter Kreitler and Chris Roth

Kreitler and Roth to Keynote 4th Annual Faith Leaders’ Luncheon

IRVINE, Calif. — The Orange County Interfaith Coalition for the Environment (OCICE) will host its 4th Annual “Faith Leaders Luncheon” on Wednesday, May 29 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the Islamic Center of Irvine, in Irvine Ca.  The luncheon is open to all faiths and lay leaders are welcome to join their respective faith leaders at this luncheon.

 

The luncheon will feature two leaders of the environmental movement based in Southern California – Reverend Canon Peter Gwillim Kreitler and Chris Roth.

Rev. Kreitler and Mr. Roth will give separate talks with a joint question-and-answer session with luncheon attendees.  Kreitler’s talk, entitled “The Morality of Global Climate Change,” will affirm why we are literally being called to lead our constituents out of the wilderness and into the light when it comes to the most important theological issue of any generation -  the perpetuation of the human and non-human story.  Mr. Roth’s talk, entitled, “Global Climate Change – Our Urgent Challenge.This presentation will cover the important aspects of awareness and action.  Awareness of the impacts that climate change is having on the environment and the effects it’s having on our lives.  And, the action you can take now that will have a positive impact on the generations to follow.

An Episcopal minister for three decades and speaker at several OCICE events, Rev. Kreitler was founder and host of “EarthTalk Today,” an environmental TV talk show based in Los Angeles.  He is the first Minister of the Environment” for the Episcopal Diocese of Los Angeles, member of the steering committee of the Episcopal Environmental Network, and author of “The Earth’s Killer C’s.”

Chris Roth is a Climate Leader with the Climate Reality Project, an active member of the Sierra Club and Citizens Climate Lobby.
